A New Standard for Canterbury Student Accommodation
We’re pleased to announce a significant refurbishment programme at Parham Village in Canterbury, a full upgrade designed to bring the property in line with the Flow Student brand experience standard.
At Flow Student, we believe student accommodation should feel intentional, well-managed and built around how students actually live. Parham Village is entering a new chapter, one focused on clarity, quality and consistency.
What’s Changing at Parham Village?
Our refurbishment plans include upgrades across kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and shared living areas.

New Kitchens
Every upgraded kitchen will feature:
- Matte taupe-grey cabinetry
- Small round black pull handles
- Black built-in appliances
- Marble-effect splashbacks
- Contemporary worktops
- Light oak herringbone flooring
The design is modern, durable and easy to live in. Clean lines. No unnecessary detail. Built for daily use.

Refurbished Bathrooms
Bathrooms are being upgraded with:
- Stone matte Aquaboard wall finishes
- Concrete-effect vinyl flooring
- Modern sanitaryware
- Flush square mirrors
The result is a contemporary, low-maintenance finish designed to feel clean and consistent.

Fully Upgraded Bedrooms
Bedrooms are central to the student experience. That’s why every refurbished room will include:
- Brand new furniture packages
- Upgraded desks, wardrobes and storage
- Brand new mattresses in every room
- A calm, neutral interior palette
Better sleep. Better study. Better day-to-day living.

Shared Living Spaces
We are also upgrading communal lounges and shared areas to align with the Flow design language, modern, cohesive furniture, improved lighting and durable finishes throughout.
This is about creating a space that feels balanced and properly considered, not temporary.
Designed Around Experience, Not Excess
Flow Student is not amenity-led.
It is experience-led.
We focus on the fundamentals:
- Quality materials
- Consistent finishes
- Practical layouts
- Clear operational standards
Parham Village is being brought into that framework.
The refurbishment reflects our wider investment in raising the standard of student accommodation in Canterbury.

While refurbishment works are underway, day-to-day management at Parham Village remains consistent.
Alice Beard continues in her role as Property Manager, leading the on-site team and overseeing the building throughout this next phase.
If you have any questions about the refurbishment plans, room availability or tenancy agreements, Alice and the team are on hand to provide clear guidance and support.
As Alice explains:
“We’re really excited about the improvements planned for Parham Village. The upgrades will make a real difference to the day-to-day experience for residents, while keeping the supportive and well-managed environment students already value. My team and I are here to answer any questions and help make the transition as smooth as possible.”
Continuity matters. So does clarity.
Our priority is to ensure that while the building evolves, the support structure behind it remains steady and responsive.
The specification outlined above reflects our current refurbishment plans.
All works are subject to availability and Flow Student reserves the right to amend specification where required.
Our commitment, however, remains unchanged: to deliver a modern, high-quality student living environment aligned with the Flow experience standard.
Why This Matters for Canterbury Students
Canterbury is a well-established and competitive student city. Expectations are rightly high — not just academically, but in how students live day to day.
Accommodation plays a central role in the overall student experience. It shapes routine, study habits, wellbeing and the ability to feel settled in a new city.
This refurbishment at Parham Village is about strengthening that experience through:
- Newly upgraded kitchens and bathrooms
- Brand new furniture and mattresses throughout
- Modern, durable finishes built for everyday use
- A cohesive and consistent Flow design standard
The improvements are practical — but their impact is broader.
A well-designed kitchen encourages shared moments and informal connection.
A comfortable bedroom supports better rest and study focus.
Clear, modern environments reduce friction and make daily life simpler.
For students, this means a more supportive and balanced living experience.
For parents, it provides reassurance that quality and management standards are being prioritised.
For the university community, it contributes to a stronger residential environment aligned with student wellbeing.
As Richard Bolger, Head of Operations, explains:
“Student accommodation should actively support the wider university experience. At Parham Village, we’re enhancing not just the physical environment, but the overall student journey, from move-in through to graduation. By improving comfort, durability and consistency, we’re creating a setting that helps students focus, settle and thrive.”
The objective is clear: to ensure Parham Village is more than a place to stay, it’s a place that supports the full student experience in Canterbury.
